Parable's CPRS/VistA interface allows Parable assessment data to be automatically transferred to the EHR. Automatic Transfers work by using a pre-defined note title and note location to publish a new, e-filed note with imaging attached whenever a Parable assessment is completed.
The e-filed note is authored by the Parable System agent and cannot be modified by other users. The note content includes Parable assessment details included as text (example below). Configuration requires a pre-existing note and title and note location.
If your Parable Region has multiple Settings (sub-groups) enabled, data transfers from each Setting can be assigned to different a note title and location.
For workflows requiring more control over data transfers, Parable also supports flexible, on-demand Manual Transfers that allow you to attach Parable assessments to previously signed EHR notes.
Automatic Transfer Schedule
If Automatic Transfers are enabled for your Region, any assessments performed on EHR-Linked patients will automatically be queued for transfer once synced--no action or trigger is required from users.
CPRS/VistA Automatic Transfers take place hourly at the :00 mark; transfers will remaining in the Pending status until the next hour mark. A Parable assessment that synced at 1:30 PM, for example, would remaining Pending until 2:00 PM and be become Completed shortly after.
Note that, only fully completed and synced assessments will be queued for transfers. 'Incomplete Assessments' that have been saved for later will not be scheduled for transfer until completed and synced.
EHR-Linked Patients
Automatic Transfers only work for patients that have been added to Parable via CPRS/VistA.
You can import a CRPS/VistA patient into Parable by searching for the corresponding patient in the mobile app. The search results retrieve a list of CPRS/VistA patients, indicated by a purple highlight.
Selecting a patient will import their profile into your Parable Region--patients added this way are considered 'EHR-linked' and denoted with an "EHR<>" icon on their web and mobile patient profiles.
You can click the "EHR<>" icon to open up the CPRS/Vista Transfer modal, where you can trigger Manual Transfers or review Transfer History.
