Assessments in Parable are broken down into two parts: (1) photo documentation (scanning/imaging), and (2) clinical assessments.
On the Parable mobile app, navigate to the Patient Profile and tap "Add Assessment" next to a case to begin an assessment of that wound/lesion site.
1. Photo Documentation
Scanning / Imaging
Select one of the photo capture options in the prompt to proceed.
-
2D Smart Photo (Sensorless 2D)
The Smart Photo feature uses data points from 2D images to digitally capture 3D measurements of a wound/lesion site. This option uses the device's built-in camera and does not require any additional sensor hardware.
-
3D Cloud Scan (Sensorless 3D)
Using the same scanning interface as 2D Smart Photos, 3D Cloud Scans use cloud processing to render a volumetric 3D of your scanned wound. Generate automatic 2D measurements in realtime, and review a full 3D scan and depth + volume measurements after cloud processing is complete. -
3D Scan (Smart Scan)
The Smart Scan feature uses infrared scanning and computer vision technology to digitally capture 3D measurements of a wound/lesion site. This option requires Parable's 3D scanner hardware component.
- Normal Photo
Take a regular photo and manually enter measurements into the Parable app.
- Skip Scan
Photo capture will be skipped and the app will advance to clinical assessments.
Tracing and Measuring
After performing a 3D scan or 2D smart photo, you'll trace the wound boundary to determine the surface area measurement.
If you selected the 'Skip Scan' or 'Normal Photo' photo capture option, tracing will be skipped and manual measurements will be used instead.
2. Clinical Assessments
After aligning and measuring the wound/lesion site, you will be guided through an assessment protocol customized by your organization for each particular wound/lesion site. Select responses by tapping to proceed through the question sets.
At the end, you will be prompted for free-form comments in case you would like to include any other notes for this particular assessment. Notes and comments entered during assessments can be viewed under Notes & Communications on the Case View screen.
The Question Sets that appear during the clinical assessment phase can be managed on the Parable web app through the Manage Organization page.
